Global warming! How real is it?

There's a headline out there today that reads, Western Antarctic ice chunk collapses. There's a lot of discussion centered around global warming and it's effects on the polar ice caps, and eventual problems it will cause us humanoids in between. How real do you think this thing is? Or is it the making of another huge money making opportunity for all this talk about "going green"?

I think there is a lot of truth to it. I did see Al Gore's documentary on global warming (forgot the name) but I'm convince it is real. Even if 50% of what Gore said is true, it is enough to realize that we are destroying this earth. If the "before" and "after" pictures of the Artic and North Poles are real then what is there to say? More and more rockets are busting thru the atmosphere more frequently and tearing up the ozone layer (science was one the few classes I didn't cut). More and more people are burning up on the beaches and contracting those cancerous conditions. The environment is definitely off track: my roses grow during Thanksgiving & Christmas holiday season; my 12,000 btu air conditioner used to cool off my entire downstairs. Now I need at least a 20,000 btu to do the job. So I believe this is real. The whole "Green" thing s/b expected. This is a capitalist society and anyway to make money is fair game!

Yeah going green's not only the right thing to do, it's a way for capitalists to cash in on a burgeoning industry.

The name of Al Gore's Documentary was called "An Inconvinient Truth", and it does point out the obvious effects of Global Warning. It also stressed that we as humans both have a part to play in this, and to some degree, we can begin to contol a portion of our own destiny. Money, of course, this is how the , but also the "Noted Scholars", "Scientist", etc are pretty much divided down the middle on wheter it's simply our fault or with time, just like anything else, these kinds of changes are innevitable.

I ask the question, "Who really knows". One thing is for sure, we all need to conserve energy, pay more attention to detail, and pay close attention to World Leaders and their Politics. We need to be better informed !!! This is why I enjoy this site and the input from all of those who reply. Keep those creative juices flowing.

I'm kind of twisted on the whole global warming thing. I think to some degree the idea of global is money motivated. By that i mean going green is big business.
